Colon Pro (120 Caps)

This formula should be used only with Whole Body Pro or as a part of the Slow Cleanse or the Whole Body Deep Cleanse kit. Dosage is adjusted according to toxicity and chronicity of health issue.

If you are constipated to any degree or have liver toxicity, it is necessary to heal the colon; cleansing toxicity from hormone replacement therapy, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, medications, radiation, parasites, environmental chemicals and pesticides, while soothing any irritation.

Therefore, this formula has been tested over the past 10 + years to be effective with chemically sensitive and chronically ill patients. Dosage should be altered according to level of constipation and toxicity; using a few per week to using 4 per day. In some cases, 6 per day have been necessary for a week to a month in order to achieve healing of an impacted bowel. The Whole Body Pro is a blood cleanser and bolsters the immune system; it is always taken with the Colon Pro to balance the frequency of bowel movement. Due to the balancing of herbs and to the past history of use with thousands of people this formula will not cause addiction. There are always exceptions i.e. if a person uses it continuously, daily and excessively for 6 months to one year. It is not to be used as a laxative but rather as a part of a detoxification Whole Body Program, which incorporates a healthy diet, hopefully gluten free and mostly vegan.

‪The following is a list of the ingredients and the medicinal properties. The ingredients in this formula are balanced and is only recommended for use with the Whole Body & Immune Pro. Both the Whole Body & Immune Pro and the Colon Pro are part of the Whole Body Deep Cleanse kit and the Slow Cleanse. And the Whole Body & Immune Pro and the Colon Pro are always used together

Dr. Dale’s Colon Pro©™

Professional Formula

A proprietary blend of organic, and wild-harvested herbs formulated to help cleanse and balance the Colon environment. The information below is a fraction of the available research on these amazing herbs.

Fennel Seed

Latin botanical name: Foeniculum vulgare, family Umbelliferae

Fennel Seed is used for the following health conditions.

  • antispasmodic
  • appetite stimulant
  • anti-inflammatory
  • diuretic
  • relieves flatulence and bloating
  • stimulates flow of breast milk

Studies indicate that substances in fennel can reduce airway congestion by thinning and loosening phlegm, which tends to support the addition of fennel in numerous European cough remedies.

Buckthorn Bark

Latin botanical name: Rhamnus cathartica, family Rhamnaceae

Laxative and cathartic

Buckthorn, also referred to as black alder, is an herb that comes from the bark of the stems and branches of the rhamnus frangula tree. The bark is aged for up to a year and is primarily used for bowel disorders. Buckthorn contains an ingredient called anthraquinone that may have cancer fighting properties. Buckthorn is used orally in folk remedies to treat cancer however this use has not been substantiated by scientific evidence. Buckthorn is also used as a health tonic and was traditionally used as a "blood purifier" and diuretic. Buckthorn Bark's ability to soften the stool and relieve constipation makes it an effective tool in relieving pain and pressure associated with hemorrhoids and anal fissures.

Ginger Root

Latin botanical name: Zingiber officinale, family Zingiberaceae

It has been used for everything from treating the common cold, flu-like symptoms, headaches, to painful menstrual periods. Ginger Root is also used as an antiemetic/antinausea, antispasmodic, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, antiviral, antifungal, anticlotting agent, analgesic, antitussive, circulatory stimulant, carminative, expectorant, and hypotensive. Ginger root also increases blood flow to an area (topically), promotes sweating and digesting while relaxing peripheral blood vessels.

Baikal Skullcap Root

Latin botanical name: Scutellaria baicalensis, family Lamiaceae

Baikal skullcap is used to treat respiratory infections, hay fever, and fever. It is also used for gastrointestinal (GI) infections, as well as liver problems including viral hepatitis and jaundice.

Baikal skullcap is used for HIV/AIDS, kidney infections, pelvic inflammation, and sores or swelling. It is also used for scarlet fever, headache, irritability, red eyes, flushed face, seizures, epilepsy, hysteria, nervous tension, and to relieve a bitter taste in the mouth.

In combination with other herbs, Baikal skullcap is used to treat attention deficithyperactivity disorder (ADHD), prostate cancer, a lung condition called bronchiolitis, arthritis, and hemorrhoids. Baikal skullcap is also sometimes applied to the skin for psoriasis.

Cascara Sagrada Bark

Latin botanical name: Rhamnus purshiana, family Rhamnaceae

The bark of the Cascara Sagrada is the desired portion of this plant. While it has been used in large doses to induce vomiting, its primary use is that of a laxative. It actively promotes peristalsis of the intestines. When used in prescribed dosages, it will typically produce a bowel movement within six to eight hours. Constipation is the only ailment that Cascara Sagrada has been clinically proven to be effective against, but there are claims that it will also provide relief for headaches, nausea, high blood pressure, irritable bowel syndrome, gall bladder, and yellow jaundice.

Cautions & interactions: Cascara Sagrada should not be used while pregnant or nursing. As with any stimulating laxative, it should not be used for prolonged periods of time. There is a tiny amount of this ingredient in Colon Pro.

Senna Leaf

Latin botanical name: Cassia acutifolia, family Leguminosae

Purgative. Its action being chiefly on the lower bowel, it is especially suitable in habitual costiveness. It increases the peristaltic movements of the colon by its local action upon the intestinal wall. Its active principle must pass out of the system in the secretions unaltered, for when Senna is taken by nurses, the suckling infant becomes purged. It acts neither as a sedative nor as a refrigerant, but has a slight, stimulating influence. In addition to the nauseating taste, it is apt to cause sickness, and griping pains, so that few can take it alone; but these characteristics can be overcome or removed, when it is well adapted for children, elderly persons, and delicate women.

Psyllium Seed

Latin botanical name: Plantago ovate, family Plantaginaceae

Psyllium, a bulk-forming laxative, is used to treat constipation. It absorbs liquid in the intestines, swells, and forms a bulky stool, which is easy to pass. This medication is sometimes prescribed for other uses; ask your Biological Natural Practitioner for more information. A tiny amount is used in the Colon Pro.

Rhubarb Root

Latin botanical name: Rheum rhabarbarum / Rheum palmatum, family Polygonaceae

Rhubarb root is a valuable remedy that incites the activity of the stomach, liver and bowels by increasing the flow of the digestive juices. In small doses it makes an excellent strengthening tonic for the stomach, in large doses it acts as a laxative.

Rhubarb root's purgative action is useful in constipation, but also has an astringent effect following this. It therefore has a truly cleansing action on the gut, removing debris and then astringing with antiseptic properties as well.

Aloe Vera Leaf (Cut Without Chemicals)

Latin botanical name: Aloe Vera, family Xanthorrhoeaceae

Transparent gel from the pulp of the meaty leaves of Aloe vera has been used topically for thousands of years to treat wounds, skin infections, burns, and numerous other dermatologic conditions. Dried latex from the inner lining of the leaf has traditionally been used as an oral laxative.

There is strong scientific evidence in support of the laxative properties of aloe latex, based on the well-established cathartic properties of anthraquinone glycosides (found in aloe latex).

There is promising preliminary support from laboratory, animal, and human studies that topical aloe gel has immunomodulatory properties that may improve wound healing and skin inflammation.

Barberry Root

Latin botanical name: Berberis vulgaris, family Berberidaceae
Tonic, purgative, antiseptic. It is used in the form of a liquid extract, given as
decoction, infusion or tincture, but generally a salt of the alkaloid Berberine is preferred.

As a bitter stomachic tonic, it proves an excellent remedy for dyspepsia and
functional derangement of the liver, regulating the digestive powers, and if given in larger doses, acting as a mild purgative and removing constipation.
It is used in all cases of jaundice, general debility and biliousness, and for diarrhea.

Slippery Elm Bark

Latin botanical name: Ulmus fulvam, family Urticaceae
Demulcent, emollient, expectorant, diuretic, nutritive. The bark of this American Elm is considered one of the most valuable remedies in herbal practice, the abundant mucilage it contains having wonderfully strengthening and healing qualities. Excellent results in gastritis, gastric catarrh, mucous colitis and enteritis, being tolerated by the stomach when all other foods fail. Great value in bronchitis, bleeding from the lungs and consumption. Excellent for coughs.

The bark is an ingredient in various lung medicines. A valuable remedy for
Bronchitis and all diseases of the throat and lungs. Irritation of the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines, and taken at night will induce sleep.

American Indians have long used this viscous inner bark to prepare a healing salve, and in herbal medicine a Slippery Elm bark powder is considered one of the best possible poultices for wounds, boils, ulcers, burns and all inflamed surfaces, soothing, healing and reducing pain and inflammation.

White Willow Extract

Latin botanical name: Salix alba, family Salicaceae
Willows have been used for centuries for pain relief and fever reduction. It has a natural salicyclic acid in the leaves, very similar to aspirin. This compound salicin, however, does not have any of the adverse side effects of aspirin such as intestinal upset or bleeding in the stomach, because the Willow does not block prostaglandins in the stomach or intestines. White Willow Bark is considered tonic, antiperiodic, and astringent. It is effective in treating dyspepsia, in healing after acute illness, and in chronic diarrhea and dysentery. Additionally, White Willow Bark is valuable in alleviating pain from rheumatism, neuralgia, arthritis, gout, angina, and headache.

Boswellia Serrata

Latin botanical name: Boswellia serrata, family Burseraceae

Boswellia serrate, a potential anti-inflammatory agent, is one of the ancient and most valued herbs in Ayurveda.

Boswellia, suggests that elephants enjoy this herb as a part of their diet. Three renowned ancient texts form the pillars of classical Ayurvedic Science, which has its roots in India: Charaka's Charaka Samhita (c.B.C. 700), the first fundamental medical text; Susruta's Susruta Samhita (c.B.C. 600), which attempted to amass the entire medical knowledge, with special focus on surgery; and the two-volume tome comprising Astanga Samgraha and Astanga Hridaya (c.130-200 A.D.), written by Vagbhata the Elder and Vagbhata the Younger, which synthesized the works of Charaka and Susruta and summarized the eight parts of Ayurveda in prose and verse forms. The first two pillars of Ayurveda describe the antirheumatic (antiarthritis)
activity of gugguls-the gum-resins of trees[16–20]. In addition to its beneficial use for arthritis, this gummy resin is also mentioned in traditional Ayurvedic and Unani texts as an effective remedy for diarrhea, dysentery, ringworm, boils, fevers (antipyretic), skin and blood diseases, cardiovascular diseases, mouth sores, bad throat, bronchitis, asthma, cough, vaginal discharges, hair-loss, jaundice, hemorrhoids, syphilitic diseases, irregular menses and stimulation of liver. It is also diaphoretic, astringent, diuretic and acts both as internal and external stimulant. Modern medicine and pharmacology strongly point out to its use as an antiarthritic, antiinflammatory, antihyperlipidemic (controls blood lipids),antiatherosclerotic (anticoronary plaque), analgesic (pain-reliever) and hepatoprotective (protects the liver).

Boswellia extract may increase the effects of drugs, such as zafrilukast and
montelukast -- leukotreine inhibitors that doctors prescribe to treat asthma, according to Natural Standard, an international organization that collects and evaluates research on alternative and complementary treatments. It may also lower cholesterol and triglycerides, and increase the effects of anti-cholesterol medications and antifungals. Conversely, NSAIDs may decrease the beneficial effects of boswellia extract for arthritis, and anti-proliferative drugs used to fight cancer may increase the effects of boswellia. Boswellia may also thin the blood and interfere with anti-coagulant medications, such as warfarin, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Tendinitis: Boswellia (Boswellia serrate) may help with inflammation, although it has not been tested for tendinitis. Source: Tendinitis Crohn's disease: Boswellia has anti-inflammatory properties, and a few studies suggest that it may help treat Crohn's disease. Source: Crohn's disease Reiter syndrome: Boswellia (Boswellia serrata) helps reduce inflammation, although it has not been studied specifically for Reiter syndrome. Source: Reiter syndrome | University of Maryland Medical Center

Turmeric Root (Curcumin Longa)

Latin botanical name: Curcuma longa, family Zingiberaceae

Many Uses include Indigestion or Dyspepsia: Curcumin stimulates the gallbladder to produce bile, which may help improve digestion.

NIH: Potential Therapeutic Effects of Curcumin, the Anti-inflammatory Agent,
Against Neurodegenerative, Cardiovascular, Pulmonary, Metabolic,Autoimmune and Neo-plastic Diseases. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pm... turmeric potentially reduces the risk of cancer.http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pu...

The most important chemical components of turmeric are a group of compounds called curcuminoids, which include curcumin(diferuloylmethane), demethoxycurcumin, and bisdemethoxycurcumin. The best studied compound is curcumin, which comprises 0.3-5.4% of raw turmeric. Curcumin is the main beneficial constituent in terms of health, and is non-toxic in the body. In addition there are other important volatile oils such as tumerone, atlantone, and zingiberene. Some general constituents are sugars, proteins, and resins. Curcumin has been a center of attraction for potential treatment of an array of diseases, including cancer, Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, allergies, arthritis and other chronic illnesses.

The German Commission E, which determines which herbs can be safely prescribed in Germany, has approved turmeric for digestive problems. One double-blind, placebo-controlled study found that turmeric reduced symptoms of bloating and gas in people suffering from indigestion.

Ulcerative Colitis: Turmeric may help people with ulcerative colitis stay in
remission. Ulcerative colitis is a chronic disease of the digestive tract where
symptoms tend to come and go. In one double-blind, placebo controlled study; people whose ulcerative colitis was in remission took either curcumin or placebo, along with conventional medical treatment, for 6 months. Those who took curcumin had a relapse rate much lower than those who took placebo.

Osteoarthritis: Because of its ability to reduce inflammation, researchers have
wondered if turmeric may help relieve osteoarthritis pain. One study found that people using an Ayurvedic formula of herbs and minerals with turmeric, winter cherry (Withinia somnifera), boswellia (Boswellia serrata), and zinc had less pain and disability.

Heart Disease: Early studies suggested that turmeric may help prevent
atherosclerosis, the buildup of plaque that can block arteries and lead to heart attack or stroke. In animal studies, an extract of turmeric lowered cholesterol levels and kept LDL "bad" cholesterol from building up in blood vessels. Because it stops platelets from clumping together, turmeric may also prevent blood clots from building up along the walls of arteries.

Cancer: There has been a great deal of research on turmeric's anti-cancer
properties. Evidence from test tube and animal studies suggests that curcumin may help prevent or treat several types of cancers, including prostate, breast, skin, and colon cancer. Its preventive effects may be because it is a strong antioxidant, protecting cells from damage. Bacterial and Viral Infections: Test tube and animal studies suggest turmeric may kill bacteria and viruses.

Uveitis: A preliminary study suggests curcumin may help treat uveitis, an
inflammation of the eye’s iris. In one study of 32 people with chronic anterior uveitis, curcumin was as effective as corticosteroids, the type of medication usually prescribed. More research is needed. Source: Turmeric | University of Maryland Medical Center

Cayenne Pepper

Latin botanical name: Capsicum annuum, family Solanaceae

A powerful local stimulant, with no narcotic effect largely used in hot climates as a condiment, and most useful in atony of the intestines and stomach. It is useful by reducing the dilated blood-vessels and thus relieving chronic congestion. It is often added to tonics and is said to be unequalled for warding off diseases.

Matricaria Recutita

(German Chamomille)
Latin botanical name: Matricaria chamomilla, family Asteraceae

German chamomile has been used for more than two thousand years to treat menstrual problems, gallbladder, fevers, inflammations, gastrointestinal disorders, as a relaxing infusion and as antiseptic.

Marshmallow Root

Latin botanical name: Althea officinalis, family Malvaceae

Few scientific studies have looked at the effects of marshmallow in humans. Most of its suggested uses come from a long history of use in traditional healing systems. However, one recent study confirmed that marshmallow preparations help soothe irritated mucous membranes. It is also been used successfully for the following conditions.

  • Asthma
  • Bronchitis
  • Common cold/sore throat
  • Cough
  • Inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis
  • Indigestion
  • Stomach ulcers
  • Skin inflammation
